Many children in foster care are removed from their homes with little more than the clothes on their backs. If they do have any personal belongings, many are given a trash bag in which to carry them. Every child deserves to pack their belongings in a special bag that they can call their very own.
In honor of National Adoption Awareness Month, Amerigroup Georgia partnered up with Comfort Cases to fill over 200 backpacks with new personal care items for Georgia youth in foster care at a “Packing Party” in Atlanta, GA. Amerigroup Volunteers filled backpacks with pajamas, a blanket, hygiene kit, a book, stuffed animal and more. The backpacks and duffle bags from the packing party were donated to local nonprofits serving youth in foster care: MAAC (Multi Agency Alliance for Children), Bethany Christian Services and Seeds that Grow.
